it’s nice to meet you
Welcome to The Chapel! We're so glad to have met you! Our hope is that your experience would be a welcoming and loving one. Maybe you'd consider yourself a follower of Christ or maybe you're new to the idea of church and God, and you’re still trying to decide how these things might fit into your life. No matter where you fall, we're glad that you're here. Below is some information that we hope will be helpful as you begin to learn more about who we are!
Listen to a short welcome message from Pastor Jerry Gillis:
We know coming to a brand new church, or any church for that matter, can be nerve-racking. So, we want you to know what you can expect when you join us on a Sunday!
The Chapel is one church with three physical locations. The CrossPoint Campus is located in Getzville, NY and has gatherings at 9 and 11am. The Lockport Campus is located in downtown Lockport, NY and has gatherings at 9 and 11am. The Cheektowaga Campus meets in the Regal Theater of the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga, NY and has gatherings at 9:15am.
At The Chapel, we want you to come as you are. There is no dress code; we just want you to come in whatever you’re most comfortable in.
When you join us for a Sunday morning service, you can expect to hear the truth about who God is and what He wants for your life. We believe that Jesus is exactly who He says He is, and we base everything we do off of that truth.
We know that grown-up services can be boring when you’re a kid. That's why we have a special place for children birth-8th grade. King's World is a place where kids birth-4th grade can experience the awesomeness of God in an environment that is just for them. They will learn the timeless truths of the Bible in a relevant, engaging way. Shine is for students grades 5-8 and it includes an opening game, live worship, large group teaching, and small groups.
We wholeheartedly believe that whatever God is going to do, He will do through all of His people. That is why we want you to become a true disciple of Christ — someone who is following Christ daily and compelling others to do the same. Discipleship encapsulates all that we are and all that we do as believers in Jesus Christ. It is a lifestyle that evolves over time spent walking with God, understanding and implementing his will for our personal lives, for the church, and interaction with the world around us. You can begin this process by visiting discipleship.thechapel.com.
Mission Statement: We are on mission to ensure that every man, woman, and child have repeated opportunities to hear and see the gospel of Jesus Christ.
When you come to The Chapel, we want your visit to be more than just a “good experience.” We want you to see the love that God has for you and know that He has a specific plan for your life.
As a result of faith in Jesus, we see four outcomes that should be present in your life as a disciple. These aren’t rituals or things to make us more religious; instead, these outcomes put us into a position to be more like Christ.
Teaching our soul that its satisfaction is found in God alone. Spend time with God each day through prayer and His Word.
How would Jesus live my life were He me? This impacts our relationships to people and to our stuff.
Each Jesus-follower is gifted by God for the good of others and the advancement of the Gospel. Everyone is necessary.
Whenever people encounter Jesus, He leaves them with a story to tell. God’s grace has invaded our lives; we exist to share it.
How long does a service last?
Typically our services last about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
What will happen when I come for the first time?
If you are joining us for the first time, we will not embarrass you. We have a welcome packet that includes helpful information, along with a disc that includes music to give you an idea of who we are. If you want to connect with someone or ask questions, we have some awesome volunteers at our Information Center who would be more than happy to help.
How do I get involved?
You can see all of our service opportunities at www.thechapel.com/serve
How do I get involved in a small group?
We believe that in order to grow as a follower of Christ, it is instrumental to be involved in a small group. Here at The Chapel, we call our small groups “Circle Groups”. If you are interested in joining a Circle Group, please contact Ryan Kozey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
